How It Works

The batch process works like this:

Select the Data Type. By default selected is "TEXT"
To download a sample data file, click the link to get a Excel (.xlsx) file for the selected data type.
Upload a Excel (.xlsx) file containing the data to encode for each QR code in the batch.
Click NEXT to enter Batch Name and select the Project. Your uploaded file will then be validated for errors or inconsistencies.
If validation is successful, processing will commence and will take 1-4 minutes depending on batch size and server load at the time.
When processing is finished an email will be sent to email address (the email address for your account) containing the download link for a zip archive file containing the individual QR code image files from your batch.

Creating Your Excel File

An Excel (.xlsx) file can be created directly from Microsoft Excel by selecting "Excel Workbook (*.xlsx)" from the Save As Type drop-down menu. Google Sheets also supports exporting data in Excel (.xlsx) format.

Hint: First create a Discord server. Once your server is set up, obtain the invite link by clicking on the server name at the top of the channel list and selecting Invite People. Please provide us with the copied invite link, and we will use it to generate a QR code that will direct users to your Discord server.

"format": Optional. QR code image format. Supported formats are: png, jpg, svg, pdf, eps, dxf. Default: png.
"error_correction_level": Optional. The QR code error correction level (ECL). Supported values are: H for High, Q for Quartile, M for Medium, L for Low. Default: L.
"size": Optional. The QR code size. Min:128, Max:1024. Default: 256.
"dpi": Optional. The QR code resolution that indicates how many dots (or pixels) are printed or displayed per inch. Supported values are 72, 150, 300, 600. Default: 72.

"center_text": Optional. Text to embed in the QR code. Text length should be Min:1, Max:16. Not supported if the format is "dxf". Default: null.

The platform now supports processing several data types within one batch file. Select the required data types, and download a sample file to understand the supported structure and format.

Bulk Update for Existing QR Codes

The Bulk Update feature lets you quickly change the web links or data inside many existing QR Codes at once.

Step 1: Get Your QR Codes Ready (Export)

Go to "All QR Codes": Find this tab on the left of your QRStuff dashboard.
Pick Your Codes: Use the checkboxes next to the Code ID to select all the QR Codes you want to change.
Download Data: Click the Export Selected QR Codes button.
Save File: An Excel file containing the data for your chosen codes will download to your computer.

Step 2: Make Your Changes in the Excel File

Open the File: Open the downloaded Excel file (it looks like a spreadsheet).
Edit the Content: Look for the column labeled "Contents" and type in the new data for each QR Code.
Important Rule: Do not change the Code ID number. This is how the system knows which QR Code to update. Make sure the new information matches the original Data Type.
Save: Save and close the spreadsheet, keeping it in an Excel format.

Step 3: Upload and Start the Update

Click "Bulk Update": Go back to the "All QR Codes" page and click the Bulk Update button.
Upload the File: In the window that pops up, select the edited Excel file from your computer.
Submit: Click Submit to start the update.
Go to Monitoring: The system will automatically take you to the Batch History page to watch the process.

Step 4: Check Results and Fix Errors (Batch History)

Monitor Status: On the Batch History page, your update job will be listed. You will see immediately if it was Completed or if it Failed with errors. The summary shows how many records were successfully Completed and how many resulted in Errors.
Download the Error Report: If any updates failed, click the Export Report option. This downloads a clean file showing only the rows that failed and the exact reason for the error.
Fix and Re-Upload: Use this error report to quickly fix the data in your original file, and then repeat Step 3 to process only the failed QR Codes.

Processing Large Batches

The maximum online batch size limit of 500 codes per batch has been set to avoid undue server load across the sessions of other users. For registered users with more than 20,000 codes to generate we offer a service whereby the job is run locally at our end - the cost of this service is US$2.50/1000 codes (a reduced rate of US$2.20/1000 applies for jobs involving >100,000 codes) plus a US$130 processing fee.

Just send us the Excel (.xlsx) file containing your batch data and we'll look after the rest. The QR code image files for the batch are then emailed to you in zip files.

Payment is by Paypal prior to job commencement and turnaround is 48-72 hours from when payment has been received.
